Inuit Ivory Carving of Artic Loon by Al Mayac

This is a large, beautiful carving of a swimming arctic loon. It has dynamic scrimshaw with black coloring over the white ivory. The artist colored the head gray and added red eyes. The loon has tiny dots of white ivory in bands on its black back. This is a wonderful example of really good Inuit scrimshaw work. L. 4 ¼"; H. 1 ½" c.2000 #9021
