Kuroco Snips
Two sizes: 180mm & 200mm Unlike secateurs, snips are only meant for cutting soft green growth, nothing woody. The long skinny blades allow you to get into tight spaces and make precise cuts without leaving stubs. The Kuroco snips are well balanced, lightweight and fit snugly in your hand. Created by Takashi Yoshioka of Yoshioka Hamono, these Kuroco snips are perfectly weighted and balanced for maximum user comfort. Designed for bud pruning in Japan, I think they are also great for deadheading, cutflowers, and harvesting veggies. If you do a lot of these types of work, using snips instead of secateurs gives your hand and wrist a break from using a heavier tool all day. This model is a step up from inexpensive flower snips with flimsy leather or plastic clasps. The higher quality steel sharpens and holds an edge better, and the sturdier construction means that they'll last longer! If you want a pair of snips that feel really exceptional in your hand, check out the tea green leather-wrapped Kuroco snips.
