French Pencil Reed Chest C. 1970

An elegant French pencil reed chest, c.1970s. A beautifully crafted piece, the wooden frame and base are covered with a swirling pencil reed decoration. This is achieved by heating individual reeds and then applying them by hand, then finished with a rich dark brown lacquer. The drawers are fitted with integrated pulls. Smart useful storage. Sourced in France. Dimensions: H: 81.5cm W: 82cm D: 51.5cm Condition: Very good, robust condition. The reed surface and detailing are consistent across all faces.
