Or someone who wanted to be one.
Or a director who never quite finished anything but was always on the verge of something big. You can imagine the kind of conversations—
ideas getting pitched, dismissed, picked up again,
someone insisting this one’s different. The table slowly filling with cups, papers, gestures… Not sure anything ever made it out of the room. But it probably sounded convincing at the time.
