Created by author Inger Sandberg and illustrator Lasse Sandberg, Laban isn't quite the frightening ghost his family might have expected: he's gentle and kind-hearted and is even a little afraid of the dark. Lasse Sandberg's distinctive illustrations have a wonderfully simple, almost hand-drawn quality that gives this blanket its nostalgic charm. While Laban may be less familiar to British families, in Sweden he is an enduring children's character with more than sixty years of history.
