1948 Doubleday two volume hardcover with dust jackets in slipcase set, first edition These are vintage used items, in good used condition, with signs of age/wear; cardboard slipcase bears heavy rubbing/scuffing, edgewear and associated corner wear, fading/smudging, minor points of blemish/distress. Interior DJ's bear rubbing/scuffing, minor edgewear and associated corner wear, wear along/about inset folds and spine, light fading, rip at Vol 1 base left-to-center, and rear center. Pebble-tan coverboards show light rubbing, minimal edgewear and little associated corner wear, slight fading, minuscule poins of blemish/distress. Interior pages show clean/smooth, creamy-white, with sharp black typeset and good preservation of B&W images/illustrations; little wear/tanning. Spines remain straight/smooth, with minor shelfwear (top/base), while bindings are intact/secure and square-to-hand. There are no excessive nicks, chips, rips, tears, perforations, stains, residue or repairs. The box set measures approx 6" x 3" x 9".
