The Athlon Midas TAC Gen2 UHD 5-30x56 FFP IR Riflescope (APRS16 MIL Reticle) is a high-performance long-range riflescope combining premium UHD optics, a versatile 5-30x magnification range and an illuminated first focal plane MIL reticle. Building on Athlon's popular Midas TAC platform, this Gen2 model is designed for long-range hunting, precision shooting and competition use, with the optical performance and adjustment system needed for demanding shots at extended distances. The 5-30x magnification range provides excellent versatility, giving you a wider field of view at lower power while providing substantial magnification when more detail is needed at longer ranges. Its large 56mm objective works alongside Athlon's UHD glass to deliver a clear, sharp image. Extra-low dispersion glass helps minimise chromatic fringing, while Advanced Fully Multi-Coated lenses maximise light transmission for excellent brightness and true-to-life colour across the visible spectrum. The APRS16 FFP IR MIL reticle sits in the first focal plane, allowing the reticle to scale with magnification so its MIL subtensions remain consistent throughout the zoom range. Reticle illumination improves visibility when the reticle would otherwise be difficult to distinguish against dark targets or backgrounds, adding useful versatility in changing light conditions. For long-range adjustment, the Midas TAC Gen2 UHD uses an exposed elevation turret with Athlon's Precision Zero Stop system. Once the rifle is zeroed, the system provides a positive mechanical stop for quickly and accurately returning to the original zero after dialling for distance. Adjustments are made in precise 0.1 MIL clicks with 10 MIL available per turret revolution, along with 30 MIL of total elevation adjustment and 23 MIL of total windage adjustment. The windage turret is capped to help prevent accidental movement in the field. Side-focus parallax adjustment extends from approximately 18m to infinity, allowing precise correction across a broad range of shooting distances. Internally, Athlon's High Precision Erector System is designed to provide reliable adjustment and operation, while the larger 34mm tube provides a strong platform for the scope's long-range adjustment system. The one-piece tube is manufactured from aircraft-grade aluminium and is argon purged for dependable performance in changing conditions. Athlon's XPL protective coating helps protect the exterior lenses against dirt, oil and harsh conditions, while the scope is built to be waterproof, fog proof and shockproof for demanding field use.
