Tabriz Jhangeer Hand-Knotted Wool & Silk Rug - 12'0'' x 17'2''

A finely drawn oval medallion sits at the center of a soft beige field filled with small blossoms, flowing vines and arabesque curves, with matching corner pieces. A border of scalloped outlines and floral bands frames the field, and accents of navy, slate blue, olive green, terracotta and muted rose add depth to the beige, cream and taupe ground. It is a 12x17 hand knotted Tabriz area rug in wool and silk. This is a new, one-of-a-kind rug, hand knotted at about 784 knots per square inch. A knot count that fine is what allows the crisp outlines, graceful curves and layered detail you see in the drawing. The pile is wool, which gives the rug its durability and soft hand, and silk is used for the highlights, so the petals and vine work catch the light with a gentle sheen that shifts as you move around the room. The surface is dense and velvety underfoot. At 12'0'' x 17'2'', it is sized for a great room, a formal living room, or a large dining room, where it can hold a full furniture group. The beige and blue palette suits traditional and formal interiors, and it brings a classic focal point to a transitional or modern room. The centered medallion pairs well with symmetrical furniture layouts.
