The story begins at Lake Tahoe, high in the Sierra Nevada, where the water is so clear you can see the stones below and its color shifts from ice blue at the shore to deep aqua further out. Each tube is shaped by hand with a crackled, ice-like texture that catches and scatters the light, so no two tubes, and no two pendants, are ever exactly alike. Lit, the glass glows a fresh, luminous aqua; unlit, it reads as cool, frosted blue, like lake ice in early spring. The 37 cm (14.6″) version has 25 cm (9.8″) glass tubes; the 42 cm (16.5″) version has 30 cm (11.8″) tubes for a longer look. How many should I hang over a kitchen island? It is hardwired to a ceiling junction box; we recommend installation by a licensed electrician. Can I get a longer chain? Yes. The standard chain is 150 cm (59.1″); tell us your ceiling height and we will make a longer chain before shipping. Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling? Yes. The chain hangs straight down so the light stays level; contact us before ordering to confirm the setup. What bulb does it use? It takes 1 G9 bulb (not included), max. 40W. We recommend a 2700K warm white LED bulb. Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors? Only in dry indoor areas. It is rated IP20, so keep it away from showers and steam. High in the Sierra Nevada, between California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is famous for water so clear it seems to glow. At the edge it is pale ice blue, and it deepens into aqua further out, with the sunlight rippling over the stones below. The Tahoe pendant carries that clarity indoors.
