Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu: Practical Techniques DVD by Seigo Okamoto
“Like the simultaneously released Daito-ryu Aiki Jujutsu: Principles and Methods, this video makes extensive use of slow motion to explain the practical application of aiki. Master Seigo Okamoto, head of the Daito-ryu Aiki Jujutsu Roppokai, fully reveals the results of twenty years of teaching. This long-awaited volume brings together the aiki techniques passed down through Sokaku Takeda, Kodo Horikawa, and Seigo Okamoto.” Bonus footage includes a Seigo Okamoto demo in Denmark in 2000. About the instructor: Seigo Okamoto was born on February 10, 1925 in Yubari, Hokkaido. In 1968, at the age of 38, he entered the Daito Ryu school for the first time and studied under Kodo Horikawa. Despite his late start, he gained the seventh dan in 1974, when he began to realize that "the more you learn it, the less physical strength you use, and the more rational the technique becomes," and moved to Tokyo three years later. The following year, in 1978, he was licensed as a Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu instructor by Kodo Horikawa. However, the following year Horikawa passed away, and he took up his master's will and held the reservation Daiho-kai at the Todenkai. He is currently working with many of his students to hone his excellent techniques and promote them. Language: Japanese Length: 1 hour & 24 min.
