Flower Pot with two handles, Rozenburg, Den Haag

A beautiful small Rozenburg Den Haag vase from 1903, featuring a rounded form with two large open handles and a short neck. The dark brown ground is decorated with colourful stylised flowers, leaves and flowing Art Nouveau motifs in red, blue, green and ochre. Founded in 1883 in The Hague, the Rozenburg factory quickly became the Netherlands’ most important Art Nouveau pottery manufacturer. The factory was known for its experimental forms, richly decorated earthenware and later for its famous thin eggshell porcelain.
