DROPS Air

DROPS Air – Light Alpaca Blow Yarn for Airy Sweaters DROPS Air is the yarn for sweaters and cardigans that look thick and cosy but weigh surprisingly little. Instead of being spun, baby alpaca and merino fibres are blown into a fine tube, so a garment comes out about 30–35% lighter than one knitted in a conventional yarn of the same thickness. It is soft and itch-free against the skin, knits up quickly on 5 mm needles, and shows off cables and textured stitches with a gentle, airy halo. Why choose DROPS Air? Feather-Light Warmth: The blown construction traps air inside the yarn, so you get the warmth and volume of an aran-weight sweater at a fraction of the weight. Soft Baby Alpaca: 65% baby alpaca with merino wool feels smooth and itch-free, comfortable even for knitters who find ordinary wool scratchy. Quick on 5 mm Needles: At 17 stitches per 10 cm, Air grows fast and fits hundreds of free DROPS patterns for sweaters, jackets, hats and scarves.
