Spooky Cats: A One-Color Watercolor Workshop

Come spend an evening painting some wonderfully spooky cats. In this beginner-friendly watercolor workshop, we’ll keep things simple and work with just one color: white watercolor on dark paper. We’ll experiment with cat silhouettes, ghostly cats, curious poses, and simple nighttime details like moons, stars, and shadows. Working with a limited palette takes some of the pressure out of watercolor and lets us focus on shape, texture, and personality. Your cats can be cute, eerie, strange, dramatic, or a little bit of everything. You’ll have three 5 x 7 sheets of dark watercolor paper to experiment with, so there’s plenty of room to try different ideas and create a small collection rather than worrying about making one perfect painting. No watercolor or drawing experience is needed. All materials are provided.
