Encel Gelati Bookshelf Speakers - Pair

Encel Gelati Bookshelf Speakers – Pair Encel Gelati are compact passive two-way bookshelf speakers sold as a stereo pair, with a 130mm Kevlar mid/bass driver, 25mm soft-dome tweeter and a choice of cabinet and optional magnetic grille colours. Designed and voiced in Melbourne, Gelati combine a conventional passive hi-fi speaker layout with unusually flexible colour choices. They suit stereo listening in a living room, study or modest listening space when partnered with a suitable integrated or stereo amplifier. Two-Way Bass-Reflex Design Compact loudspeakers for everyday stereo listening A 5-inch (130mm) Kevlar-cone bass/midrange driver works with a 1-inch soft-dome tweeter, crossing over at 3kHz. Encel publishes a 50Hz–20kHz frequency response (±3dB), 86dB sensitivity and a recommended amplifier range of 25–100W. These specifications help with system planning: the Gelati are passive speakers, not powered speakers, and require a separate amplifier and speaker cable. Placement and Amplifier Matching Give the pair space to work Place the speakers on stable stands or suitable furniture, approximately at ear height when seated. Start with sensible left/right separation and adjust distance from nearby walls to balance bass output and stereo imaging. Their bass-reflex cabinets can sound different depending on furniture and wall placement; a small amount of experimentation is worthwhile. Ask The Audio Experts about matching a suitable stereo amplifier rather than judging compatibility from wattage alone. Cabinet Colours and Magnetic Grilles Choose each part of the appearance The available cabinet selections are Pistachio Green, Black Walnut, Black and White. Magnetic grilles are optional and are not supplied as standard. Choose No Grilles, or select a matching pair of Black, White, Eucalyptus Green, Turquoise, Ocean Blue, Electric Blue, Fluoro Orange, Apricot, Lemon Yellow, Coffee Brown, Valentine Pink or Plum Purple grilles. Cabinet and grille colours are separate choices on this product. The Audio Experts Take The Gelati are an appealing option for a room where the look of a conventional speaker is as important as getting the stereo setup right. Their compact cabinets and choice of magnetic grilles make it easy to coordinate them with furniture and decor without giving up separate hi-fi amplification. We would pay attention to stands, speaker spacing and amplifier choice. At 86dB sensitivity, they benefit from an amplifier with comfortable headroom, particularly if the listening seat is some distance away. For a smaller living room or study, a properly positioned pair can be a useful basis for a straightforward two-channel system.
