Victorian 18k French Diamond & Enamel Disc Pin

An incredible pin from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this disc-shaped pin features 2, concentric, oval-shaped plaques. The center of the pin features a prong-set, rose cut diamond. The .80ct diamond is incredibly faceted, catching the light with every turn. The central stone is surrounded by 2, oval-shaped platforms, which are each encrusted with bezel-set, rose cut diamonds. Together, the smaller diamonds have an approximate total carat weight of 1.10ctw. Each oval-shaped platform is adorned with rings of deep, black enameling, which add wonderful depth to the piece. The backside of the piece features a simple pin clasp, and the stem of the piece features an eagle-motif hallmark, which indicates that the piece is French in origin. A spectacular pin, this piece would make a special addition to any antique jewelry collection! Measurements: The pin has a height of 1 1/2" and a width of 1". Condition: The piece is in excellent condition. There is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The pin clasp is secure and in working order.
