Horological Context Omega was founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Louis Brandt's trading company. His sons industrialized production and established the manufacture in Bienne. In 1894, the Omega calibre — a precision movement with crown winding and time-setting — enjoyed such success that the house adopted it as its name. Omega then built its reputation on chronometry and high-quality mass production. In 1953, the house began signing the dials of its dress watches Genève. The name was extended to the entire range around 1967, on a line offered at a more affordable price and aimed at a younger clientele. Before its discontinuation in 1979, it accounted for the majority of Omega sales at the time. Personality The indices are faceted and catch the light under the domed crystal, steel on a black background. The hour and minute hands are hollowed out and reveal a dark line that connects them to the dial. The signature consists of three words: Omega, Automatic, Genève: the dial states what the watch is and which line it belongs to. Sobriety and vintage classicism. Serviced watch. Very good condition. Comes with the box and the 24-month Contre-Temps warranty certificate.
