Grevillea 'Coconut Ice'

Grevillea 'Coconut Ice' Grevillea ‘Coconut Ice’ is a beautiful Australian native shrub known for its distinctive pink and creamy-white flowers, which are produced over an extended period and provide excellent colour throughout the garden. The nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to native birds, bees and other pollinators. Growing approximately 2 m high × 2 m wide, ‘Coconut Ice’ develops into a dense, rounded shrub with attractive green foliage. Its compact growth habit makes it an excellent choice for informal hedging, screening, native gardens, mixed garden beds and feature planting. Position 'Coconut Ice' performs best in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil and is relatively drought tolerant once established. Light pruning after flowering will help maintain a dense, tidy shape and encourage fresh growth Growth This moderately fast-growing shrub reaches a mature height of 2 meters with a spread of about 2 meters, developing a dense, bushy form. Its luminous flowers and attractive foliage make it an excellent choice for creating wildlife-friendly hedges, screening, or as a focal point in mixed plantings. Planting Guide Grevillea 'Coconut Ice' grows best in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Plant about 2 meters apart if using as a hedge or screen. For container planting, use a well-draining, native plant potting mix, and position the container in a sunny location. Water thoroughly after planting, and avoid using high-phosphorus fertilisers, as Grevilleas are sensitive to phosphorus. Plant Care Water regularly during the establishment phase, then reduce watering, as 'Moonlight' is drought-tolerant once mature. Fertilise sparingly with a low-phosphorus, native plant fertiliser in early spring to support growth and flowering. Prune lightly after flowering to shape the plant and encourage bushier growth. Mulching around the base helps retain moisture and keeps the roots cool.
