Greenwood (PRE-ORDER)

The peninsula of Greenwood is sold to visitors as a green paradise: a sanctuary for magical animals run by a benevolent circle of druids, and the perfect spot for a holiday. That version of Greenwood is a lie. The mystical creatures were taken from their homes by force, and the Druids of the High Circle keep them captive to fuel their rituals and potions. You play a Primal Spirit leading a clan of rebels determined to overthrow the High Circle from within. Each turn brings a hard choice: use the abilities of your own companions, borrow the abilities of other players' companions, or send one of your own into the forest to improve your wayfinding and rescue creatures under cover of darkness. In the advanced game every clan brings a unique ability to the table, and crucially any player can use the ability of any clan in play, not just their own, so each game's mix of clans changes how everyone plays. The game runs over three nights, and the clan that has done most to liberate Greenwood takes the win. From Christos Giannakoulas and Manolis Zachariadis, with art by Martin Mottet and Maurice Mosqua, Greenwood is a heavyweight engine-building euro with a solo mode and plenty of synergies to explore.
