A brand new 18k Gold Vermeil (plated) necklace on sterling silver. Natural tourmaline stone and smaller emerald stones. Natural inclusions on photos. What is Vermeil? Whilst similar to gold plating gold vermeil is distinctly different to it. Gold vermeil originated in the 19th century where gold was applied to sterling silver. Although still using the plating technique gold vermeil requires a thicker layer. At least 2.5 microns of gold.
