Moutai 1935 Baijiu

DESCRIPTION A permanent expression from Kweichow Moutai in Moutai Town, Guizhou Province, first released in 2022 as the top tier of the producer’s series range, below the flagship Kweichow Moutai. The name refers to 1935, the year the Red Army passed through Moutai Town during the Long March. It is made from locally grown glutinous sorghum and wheat, using the traditional sauce-aroma (jiangxiang) method with a wheat-based qu starter. The final blend combines base spirits from two production areas in the core of the Chishui River basin, including Heyixing, inside the Kweichow Moutai Geographical Indication zone. Bottled at 53%. (Bottle size 500ml) TASTING NOTES Nose: An elegant combination of floral and fruity aromas, with honeyed sweetness, roasted nuts and a distinctive fermented-grain character. Palate: Rich and rounded, with a velvety texture and flavours of caramel, dark honey, aniseed, liquorice and dried fruits. Roasted and savoury notes provide depth without overwhelming the sweeter elements. Finish: Long and layered, with lingering floral and fruity notes, gentle roasted flavours and a persistent aromatic character. BAIJIU
