Late 19th Century Art Nouveau Brass Call Bell on Stone Base

Brass reception bell with a broad domed top, turned finial, and side lever. A textured central stem rises above an ornate openwork foot with leaf-inspired decoration. The assembly is mounted on a rectangular stone block, balancing the delicate metalwork with a solid base. Call bells of this type served hotel desks and reception counters. The organic ornament reflects the flowing botanical forms associated with Art Nouveau in the late 19th century. Shows moderate tarnish, finish loss, and darkened patina.
