Unlacquered solid brass. Choco Sedgwick British bridle leather. 20mm. JOEY is built around four solid-brass components: one buckle, two keepers, and one tip. Solid brass hardware is often protected by a clear lacquer to keep its colour stable and visually consistent. For EXPERIMENT 001, we left the brass unsealed. The main product photographs show the general starting tone you can expect, but unlacquered brass may continue to shift in storage and transit. Without a clear lacquer, air, humidity, touch, and time remain visible on the surface. Its tone may already have begun to shift by the time the box reaches you. Frequently touched areas may behave differently from recessed areas, and the buckle, two keepers, and tip will develop at different rates. The most visible changes usually happen early. As the patina develops, the brass tends to settle into a slower, more stable state while continuing to respond gradually to touch, humidity, and time. These changes are not damage. They are the material remaining visible. The leather is Sedgwick British bridle leather. The Choco shade is close to our CLASSIC BROWN, with a slightly deeper, darker tone. Firm at first.
