A superb and elegant Georgian mahogany secretaire bookcase, dating from around 1820, offering both beautiful proportions and practical storage. The upper section features a moulded cornice above a pair of elegant astragal glazed doors, retaining their original glass. Inside are adjustable shelves, providing excellent display and storage space for books, ceramics, or decorative pieces. The central secretaire drawer opens to reveal a wonderfully fitted interior, comprising six small drawers with hand-cut dovetail joints, brass pull handles, three pigeonholes, and a green baize writing surface—creating a charming and functional writing desk. Below, a pair of doors opens to reveal further generous storage.
