Since 1873, Moonstar has made shoes in Kurume, the historic home of Japan’s rubber industry, combining traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation. Each pair is cut, sewn and assembled by hand, then vulcanised (“ka-ryu”), a traditional process that uses heat to permanently fuse the rubber sole to the canvas upper.
