The blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir is all at once charming and creamy, with fragrant and bright qualities reminiscent of top-tier Champagne… although it’s much more attainable at only $24! Trione Vineyards goes back to the Prohibition era, when the Trione family was secretly making wine in the basement of their California bakery. In the ‘70s, Henry Trione began rapidly acquiring and developing high-potential vineyard sites in Sonoma County, and then his sons Mark and Vic eventually opened the winery in 2005, moving from just growing grapes to also producing exquisite wines. Their winemaker John Duckett only uses the best 3% of the family’s estate-grown fruit to craft Trione’s portfolio, ensuring an unshakeable sense of quality and care from farm to glass. This cuvée comes from their River Road Ranch vineyards in the Russian River Valley, which experience lazy, fog-coated mornings and toasty, breezy afternoons. The result is grapes with stunning acidity and a formidable sense of refinement. The blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir erupts from the glass with tantalizing notes of lemon hard candy, river stones, and orchids, accentuated by punchy hits of brioche French toast, tangy Rose's lime juice, and orange creamsicle.
