Large Brass and Synthetic Textile Flush Mount, Finland, 1950s

Large flush mount manufactured in Finland during the 1950s. Measuring an impressive 79 cm in diameter, the light features a wide pleated synthetic textile shade stretched over a metal frame. A continuous row of overlapping metal loops decorates the outer edge, while an aged brass center fitting with a small ornamental finial completes the design. All components are original, including the textile shade. The tightly gathered textile creates a graphic radial pattern while also functioning as a diffuser, producing a warm and pleasantly softened light. Despite its substantial diameter, the shallow profile keeps the fixture relatively close to the ceiling.
