Together, 'Master Of The Skies', 'Flying Colours' and 'Living in Grey' form a study of flight, perspective and atmosphere, each offering a different view through the window of an aircraft. 'Master Of The Skies' captures a Cessna 336 Skymaster suspended against a vivid blue sky, framed by thick layers of white paint that recreate the familiar view from inside an aircraft. Its unusual twin-engine design, with one engine at the front and another at the rear, gives the aircraft an unmistakable silhouette. Set against an expansive field of blue, the tiny plane draws the viewer closer, revealing intricate details including its lettering, subtle shadows and the miniature pilot inside. In 'Flying Colours', a small aircraft passes through a sky of pink, peach and yellow. The warm palette and heavily textured surface transform the familiar view from an aircraft window into something almost dreamlike. The title plays on the expression "with flying colours", traditionally associated with success and achievement, while taking on a literal meaning through the vivid colours that surround the plane. 'Living in Grey' takes the same perspective into a more restrained atmosphere. A solitary aircraft sits within a faded, clouded sky, surrounded by soft layers of grey and a thickly sculpted oval window frame. With colour stripped back, texture and subtle shifts in tone become the focus, creating a quiet sense of distance and weightlessness. Presented together, the three works explore the same moment from different perspectives: looking out, looking up, and finding something extraordinary in the vastness of the sky.
