Anna Rose Artwork - Art Prints
Anna is a proud Anishinaabe Woodland artist and educator. She grew up in Baawaating (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) and has been creating art sinceshe was a kid. Currently, she works full-time as an elementary school teacher in Wolastokuk (Fredericton, New Brunswick) and started Anna Rose Artwork in 2024. As a member of Genabaajing Anishinaabek (Serpent River First Nation), Anna uses her art to connect to her culture and its teachings. The majority of her illustrations are inspired by native plants and animals. She uses bold lines, vivid colours, and spiritual imagery to portray themes of interconnectedness, storytelling, and tradition. Anna believes art is medicine and a way to show gratitude for the lessons of the land she grew up on. She primarily works with acrylic paint and digital illustration, but also loves exploring ceramics, beadwork, stamp making, and coloured pencils. She hopes her art sparks dialogue and curiosity while serving as a reminder of Turtle Island's many gifts.
