Real Performance Metric True Toolchange Time: ~12 seconds per change We measure toolchange time from the last extrusion on one material to the first extrusion on the next, on the model itself. This avoids inflated and misleading numbers based on partial steps. The ~12 seconds per change for PLA is the time between when one nozzle leaves the printed part until the second nozzle starts printing. Smart Active Head Fast Induction Heating The INDX Smart Head contains an induction coil - just like an induction cooktop. When it picks up a toolhead, it generates a high-frequency magnetic field that heats the nozzle from cold to printing temperature in seconds. When the tool is parked, it cools rapidly. No oozing, no stringing from idle nozzles. HIGH-FLOW NOZZLES Passive Toolheads Using passive tools without any electronics is a massive advantage: they are less complex and more reliable. Adding a fifth, sixth, or eighth tool means adding a nozzle and a parking dock - not another full print head. By default, the INDX comes with high-flow 0.4 mm nozzles.
