The ALDILA Rogue ∞ CB is the most counterbalanced shaft in the Rogue ∞ (Infinity) lineup, built for speed without giving up control. It moves mass up toward the grip, which lowers swing weight so the club feels lighter in motion and easier to swing fast. A high kick point and firm tip keep the flight mid and the spin low, and ALDILA's Dual Torque Core keeps the face stable at impact. Built for strong, aggressive swings around 81 mph and up, in 50g to 80g with R, S, and X flex. Who It's For Good fit if you... Have a strong, aggressive swing and want more clubhead speed Want a heavier shaft that still feels easy to swing Want to build a longer driver without the swing weight getting too heavy Want a mid flight with low spin and a stable face at impact Have tried counterbalanced shafts before and found them stiff or disconnected Want to upgrade the shaft in your current driver instead of buying a new one Not the right fit if you... Swing under 80 mph: the Rogue ∞ Red goes lighter and offers R2 flex Tend to start the ball right or fight a slice: the Rogue ∞ Red will help more Have a moderate tempo and want a classic, neutral feel: look at the Rogue ∞ Blue Like to feel the clubhead in your swing: a counterbalanced shaft takes some of that away Want the most face control for a hard left miss: the Rogue ∞ White is built for that How It Plays The big story with the CB is counterbalance. ALDILA shifted more of the shaft's mass toward the handle, which lowers swing weight. That makes the club feel lighter through the swing even though the shaft itself is on the heavier side for its weight class. For a lot of strong players, that means easier speed and a more efficient delivery, without having to drop to a lighter, looser shaft. Lower in the shaft, the CB uses a high kick point and a firm tip to keep the face stable and the spin down. ALDILA rates the flight as mid launch with low+ spin, so you get speed with a flight that doesn't balloon. It's also built to keep start lines consistent, so the extra speed doesn't come with extra misses. ALDILA's Dual Torque Core is the tech behind the whole Rogue ∞ series. It layers pitch fiber in the core for energy transfer and less unwanted bending, plus high modulus carbon fiber in the angle plies to cut torque and boost stability. That's a big part of why the CB keeps a smooth, active handle feel, where some counterbalanced shafts can feel stiff or disconnected. Specifications Model Flex Length Weight (g) Torque Tip Dia. Par. ALDILA's fit guide puts the CB 50 R at about 81 to 90 mph, Stiff (50g to 70g) at about 91 to 105 mph, and X-Stiff (60g to 80g) at 106 mph and up. If you swing under 80 mph, the Rogue ∞ Red will be a better starting point. What does counterbalanced mean? It means more of the shaft's weight sits up toward the grip end. That lowers the club's swing weight, so the head feels lighter as you swing. The result is a club that's easier to swing fast, even with a heavier shaft, and it gives you more room to play a longer driver or add head weight without the club feeling too heavy. Why do the weights run heavier than the model number? The extra mass in the handle is part of the counterbalanced design. For example, the CB 50 weighs 59g to 61g and the CB 80 weighs 85g. Because that weight sits up near the grip, the club still swings lighter than the shaft weight suggests. Will the bigger butt diameter change my grip size? A little. The CB's butt diameter is .640" to .650", larger than the .600" to .615" on the other Rogue ∞ profiles. A standard grip will feel slightly bigger in your hands. If you like your grip size exactly as it is, let us know when you order and we'll help you pick a grip and tape build-up to match. Rogue ∞ CB vs White: what's the difference? Both have a high kick point and suit strong players. The White is all about face control for a left miss, with a traditional balance and the lowest flight in the series. The CB is counterbalanced to help you swing faster, with a mid launch and low spin. The CB also goes up to 80g and offers Regular flex. If your priority is controlling a left miss, go White. If you want more speed, go CB. Can this shaft be used in fairway woods? Yes. ALDILA's tip trim guide covers driver through 9-wood: no tip trim for driver, 0.5" for a 3-wood, 0.75" for a 5-wood, and 1.0" for 7 and 9-woods. Many players go up one weight class in their fairways (for example, 60g in the driver and 70g in the 3-wood). What is Dual Torque Core? It's ALDILA's construction for the whole Rogue ∞ series. It uses pitch fiber in the core for better energy transfer and less unwanted bending, and high modulus carbon fiber in the angle plies to reduce torque. The result is a more stable shaft that still keeps a smooth, active feel.
