DESCRIPTION Hand-woven from genuine pashmina cashmere sourced from the Kashmir Valley, India, this shawl is made using a generations-old craft that remains one of the most labor-intensive textile traditions in the world. Pashmina cashmere is among the rarest and finest natural fibers available, harvested from the underbelly of the Changthangi mountain goat at altitudes above 14,000 feet — its micron fineness and natural warmth are unmatched by any commercial cashmere grade. The close plain weave produces a fabric of exceptional softness and a quiet, natural sheen, with a hand so fine the cloth drapes with extraordinary fluidity. Hand-knotted fringe finishes the two short edges of the shawl; the two long edges are left as clean, plain selvedge. It can be worn looped and folded at the neck as a substantial cold-weather wrap, draped open across the shoulders as a shawl, or unfolded entirely as a full-body covering garment.
