✨ Leather Chairs of Bath Ibsen 2.5 Seater Tan Leather Sofa Bed – Vintage A beautiful and particularly unusual Leather Chairs of Bath Ibsen 2½ Seater Sofa Bed, upholstered in wonderfully aged tan leather and incorporating a substantial pull-out metal sofa-bed mechanism. Leather Chairs of Bath is an established English furniture maker founded in 1988, specialising in traditionally made leather furniture. The Ibsen is one of the company’s long-standing designs, based upon a classic Victorian sofa and produced by the company for decades. This example is especially interesting as it incorporates a full pull-out sofa-bed mechanism. Leather Chairs of Bath also offers bespoke and made-to-order furniture, and while we have been able to identify the sofa as an Ibsen 2½ Seater, we have not found another historic Ibsen sofa-bed example to establish whether this was a standard production option or a bespoke/custom order. The sofa has classic sweeping scroll arms with traditional stud detailing, a beautifully simple upholstered back and two large removable leather seat cushions. The tan leather has developed a superb natural patina with tonal variation throughout, giving the sofa the character expected from quality vintage leather furniture. Condition Presented in very good vintage condition overall. The leather shows remarkably little heavy wear for its age, although there are various marks, light scratches and other signs of previous use consistent with vintage leather furniture. There is some sun fading across the upper section of the rear leather panel, together with natural variation and marking to the leather. The seat cushions display attractive variation in colour and patina from use. Please study the photographs carefully as these show the condition, colouring and character of the leather. The sofa-bed mechanism pulls out correctly and appears extremely substantial. The sofa itself is also very heavy and exceptionally solidly constructed. PLEASE NOTE: The original sofa-bed mattress is not included and a replacement mattress will be required before the bed can be used.
