Music Of Christmas is a collection of orchestral holiday arrangements by Percy Faith and His Orchestra, presented here in the 1959 stereo re-recording of Faith's original 1954 mono album, which sold more than 250,000 copies in its initial release. This 2009 Hallmark reissue features Faith's lush orchestral treatments of twelve traditional carols and hymns, from "Joy To The World" and "Silent Night, Holy Night" through "O Come, All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles)." Faith, who joined Columbia Records in 1950 and became the label's orchestra leader, was known for his signature reverb-heavy arranging style that came to define the sound of orchestral Christmas music for decades.
