Each one opens into a full trumpet volume, then narrows into a long ribbed cuff that sits close at the wrist. A raised cord runs across the front in loops and waves. It starts at the neckline, crosses the chest and sends one line out towards the sleeve. Because it is worked in the same wool and colour as the body, the ornament reads as relief rather than print. For all its volume, the sweater is gently shaped at the waist. That keeps the silhouette feminine and makes it easy to wear with a skirt or cigarette trousers.
