Prunotto. Barbaresco 'Bric Turot'
Barbaresco DOCG Grape: Nebbiolo There is a fine, almost laid back quality to 2020, the tannins hug and fruit kiss. 14% Bric Turot is a 5 hectare vineyard with a southeast to southwest exposure. Tortonian soils, rich in chalk and marl which are relatively compact, similar to that found in La Morra, and Barolo as well. Bric Turot means ‘top of a small hill’, the name has been used for many years. The vines are Guyot* trained and follow the contours of the hill. The grapes are hand-picked, de-stemmed and crushed before a temperature-controlled fermentation, with 10 days of skin contact. Malolactic conversion* finished before the onset of winter and the wine was transferred to age in oak barrels of varying sizes for 12 months.
