Soft Foam Youth Bed – 90 × 180 cm – Bouclé

More room to grow, with all the softness that makes a MONIO bed so inviting. The MONIO Bouclé Soft Foam Youth Bed combines a generous 90 × 180 cm sleeping area with a low, Montessori-inspired design, fully soft foam construction and beautifully textured Bouclé upholstery. Designed for children who have outgrown their smaller beds, this cosy short single floor bed offers a lovely alternative to a traditional wooden or metal frame. Its soft foam sides and headboard create a comfortable place to settle down, while removable, machine-washable covers make everyday care easier. Why choose the MONIO Bouclé Youth Bed? Room to grow – a generous short single sleeping area for children moving on from a junior bed. Fully soft foam construction – soft sides and headboard, with no hard wooden or metal frame. Low Montessori-inspired design – easy for children to get in and out independently. Cosy Bouclé upholstery – soft, loop-textured fabric that brings warmth and character to a child's bedroom. Removable, machine-washable covers – practical for everyday family life. Breathable 3D spacer mesh – helps encourage airflow beneath the mattress. Anti-slip underside – helps reduce unwanted movement of the foam components. Four Bouclé colours – choose a shade to complement your child's bedroom. Optional matching mattress – choose a Bamboo or TENCEL™ mattress, or order the bed on its own. A short single bed for growing children Children grow quickly, and eventually even a comfortable junior bed can start to feel a little small. They may need more space to stretch out, turn over or simply get comfortable at night. The 90 × 180 cm sleeping area provides the same width as a standard UK single mattress, but with 10 cm less sleeping length. It's a practical option when your child needs more room than a junior bed, but you don't necessarily want a full-length single taking up extra bedroom space. As a general size guide, this youth bed may suit children around 6–10 years old. However, every child is different. Height, mobility, sleeping habits and individual needs are more useful considerations than age alone. Always follow the manufacturer's suitability guidance. Soft foam sides instead of a hard bed frame One of the biggest differences between MONIO and a conventional bed is what's underneath the upholstery. Rather than covering a rigid wooden or metal frame with padding, MONIO makes the bed's surrounding structure entirely from flexible polyurethane foam. That includes the headboard and raised sides, creating a soft sleeping space without hard frame corners or sharp edges. The foam sides surround the mattress, giving the bed a comfortable, sheltered feeling. It's a lovely place for winding down with a book, enjoying a bedtime story or simply relaxing after a busy day. The raised sides may help reduce accidental rolling from the sleeping surface, but they are not a guarantee against falls and should not replace appropriate safety precautions. A low, Montessori-inspired floor bed A Montessori-inspired bedroom is about making everyday spaces accessible and encouraging children to do more for themselves. MONIO's low floor-level design follows that idea. Without a high frame to climb onto, children can get into bed and out again comfortably, arrange their own bedding and enjoy a sleeping space that feels familiar and easy to use. Its low profile also helps the bed feel less imposing in a child's room, particularly compared with taller traditional single beds. Beautiful Bouclé upholstery, with washable covers There's something wonderfully cosy about Bouclé. Its soft, looped texture gives the bed a warm, inviting appearance, bringing a little extra softness to a child's bedroom without overwhelming the space. MONIO uses 100% polyester Bouclé upholstery, available in four colours. The textured finish works beautifully with natural wood, soft neutrals and colourful children's décor alike. Of course, a children's bed needs to be practical too. The covers are removable and machine washable according to the manufacturer's care instructions, making it easier to deal with everyday spills and marks. Thoughtful details beneath the mattress With a floor bed, it's worth thinking about what happens beneath the mattress as well as around it. MONIO incorporates a breathable 3D spacer mesh beneath the sleeping area. Its three-dimensional structure helps encourage airflow between the mattress and the floor and supports moisture dispersal. The underside of the foam components also features anti-slip fabric, helping to reduce unwanted movement during normal use. As with any floor-level bed, we recommend positioning it on a suitable, dry surface and regularly checking and airing the mattress and the area underneath, following the manufacturer's instructions. Choose your bed with or without a mattress You can order your MONIO Bouclé Youth Bed on its own or with a matching mattress, depending on what you already have at home. Bed Only: Includes the complete soft foam bed structure, without a mattress. Bed + Bamboo Mattress: Includes the bed and a matching 90 × 180 cm Bamboo mattress. Bed + TENCEL™ Mattress: Includes the bed and a matching 90 × 180 cm TENCEL™ mattress. Both matching mattress options measure 90 × 180 × 14 cm. If you're using your own mattress, please check that it fits the sleeping area correctly. MONIO recommends a maximum mattress thickness of 14 cm to maintain the intended recessed position of the mattress within the surrounding foam sides. Select your preferred Bouclé colour and mattress option before adding the bed to your basket.
