Mt. Vernon Bach 1-1/4C Trumpet Mouthpiece – Original 27 Bore Excellent condition Mt. Vernon Bach 1-1/4C trumpet mouthpiece from the collection of Boyde Hood, longtime Los Angeles Philharmonic trumpeter and respected brass pedagogue. This is an incredible specimen and one of the cleanest Mt. Vernon Bach 1-1/4C mouthpieces we have seen in years. The shank and rim show very little wear, and the mouthpiece retains its original 27 bore. This piece was replated by Bob Reeves Brass years ago. The replating was expertly done for preservation, not cosmetic reshaping, helping maintain the integrity, original contours, and character of the mouthpiece. Mt. Vernon Bach mouthpieces were produced during one of the most respected periods in Vincent Bach history. Bach moved production to Mount Vernon, New York in 1953, and the Mt. Vernon era continued into the mid-1960s before production moved to Elkhart, Indiana. Pieces from this period are highly sought after by collectors and artists for their historical significance, quality, and connection to Vincent Bach’s original workshop era.
