Can I install the camper myself, without anyone to help? Yes, simply remove the drawers to make the trunk frame lighter (if needed). Center and place trunk frame in correct spot in trunk space. Then attach all 4 turnbuckles to all 4 corners of the camper to your car's D-rings. Place bed extension on trunk frame, then voila! How strong are the drawers? The drawer slides range from a load rating of 120-200lbs when fully extended. The plywood drawers can roughly handle about 50 lbs on each drawer comfortably. Make sure the trunk frame is secured tightly to your car so the extended drawers do not tilt when loaded. How does shipping work? I can ship anywhere in the lower 48 states. It costs a flat rate of $500 (except for the Universal Aluminum Car Camper Bed Platform which ships for $175). I load the camper in a padded custom box, then strap it to a pallet. It is shipped via freight shipping service. They use forklifts and semi-trucks to transport the unit. This is the safest way to ship large items by far.
