Werkdaten Title: Yan Year: 2025 Size: 48 × 45 cm Series: In the End Green Technik: Mischtechnik auf Leinwand Style: textured painting / abstract painting Colors: green on canvas Surface: distinctly structured with organic impressions Rahmen: ohne Rahmen Status: unique piece Shipping: 1-3 Werktage (kostenfrei) Abstract painting with condensed movement “Yan” (48 × 45 cm, 2025) is a work from the series “In the End Green” that is characterized by a noticeably more active, almost directional structure. Here, the green layers of paint do not merely overlap, but in parts appear shifted, as if they had moved against each other under pressure. The surface appears denser and at the same time more lively. Different shades of green interlock while an inner dynamic develops that lends the painting a particular tension. Diagonal concentration – a quiet field of flow A striking feature is a diagonally running zone in which darker, cooler greens accumulate. This concentration feels like an area of increased pressure from which the surrounding layers derive or against which they assert themselves. The impression of an inner field of currents emerges – not as a clear movement, but as a state in which forces act and balance each other out. This subtle allusion to high and low pressure lends the painting depth without defining it too narrowly. Structure as visible energy The surface is characterised by numerous organic imprints and traces that are clearly inscribed into the layers of paint. These structures are particularly prominent in the denser areas, giving the painting an almost physical presence. At the same time, other zones remain calmer and more open. This interplay creates a complex surface that is not uniform, but composed of different intensities. Green between coolness and warmth The colours range between cooler, almost bluish greens and warmer, yellowish nuances. This creates a field of tension within the colour itself. This differentiation contributes significantly to the refined effect of the painting. The colour depth does not develop through strong contrasts, but through subtle gradations that only reveal themselves on closer inspection. The title “Yan” The short, clear name “Yan” contrasts with the complex surface. It feels reduced and direct, while the painting itself remains multi-layered and open. It is precisely this juxtaposition that heightens perception and creates a connection between something personal and an abstract, nature‑related visual language. Effect in Space “Yan” has a strong yet unobtrusive presence. Because of its directional structure, the painting draws the eye more than other works, without losing its calm. Under lateral light, the structures stand out particularly clearly and intensify the impression of depth and movement. The painting works both as a stand‑alone piece and in combination with calmer works from the series.
