Our "Closeout Corner" consists of leftover material from our regular stock that has some imperfections. This is due to natural factors such as: color variations, the presence of host rock, the presence of other auxiliary minerals, and/or staining due to natural weathering processes. Closeout crushed material is offered at a discount price and is a great option for makers who prefer a more rustic look with natural variation. ***Closeout deals are not a part of our regular stock. These deals are limited in quantity - while supplies last.** ABOUT RUBY Ruby, a variety of corundum, is one of the hardest natural minerals with a Mohs hardness of 9. While corundum occurs in a range of colors, the two most recognized forms are ruby and sapphire. The distinction comes from trace elements—ruby contains chromium, which gives it its signature red to reddish-purple color. This particular batch of closeout ruby features an even mix of reddish-purple and red hues with minor amounts of oxides, quartz, and host rock. Ruby is also the birthstone for July, making it a great choice for custom birthstone pieces or meaningful additions to your projects. MATERIAL SIZE Our crushed coarse material is considered to be pea-sized gravel, ranging between 2 millimeters to 4 millimeters. This size is great for decorating candles, embellishment designs, orgone pyramids, large woodworking voids, resin art, and metaphysical projects.
