Highlights: The avenue of the Baobabs: Witness a breathtaking sunset among these ancient giants. Tsingy de Bemaraha: Hike through the spectacular limestone “forests” and sharp rock formations. Tsiribihina river descent: Two days of peaceful navigation by traditional pirogue, camping under the stars. Highland landscapes: Discover traditional red-clay houses, rice paddies, and local craftsmanship. Cultural immersion: Meet the Vezo fishermen in Betania and explore the local life in remote villages. Itinerary: Day 1: Antananarivo – Antsirabe (170 km) Morning: Departure from Tana towards the South. Scenic drive along RN7 through the highlands. Stopover: Visit an aluminum pot foundry in Ambatolampy. Afternoon: Arrival in Antsirabe. City tour by cyclo-pousse (rickshaw) and visits to local craft workshops (miniature bikes, zebu horn carving). Stay: Hotel in Antsirabe. Day 2: Antsirabe – Miandrivazo (225 km) Morning: Visit the stunning Lake Tritriva, a mysterious volcanic crater lake. Afternoon: Drive toward the warmer Western region via RN34. Stay: Hotel in Miandrivazo. Day 3: Tsiribihina River Descent (Part I) Morning: Transfer to the riverbank and board a traditional pirogue. Activities: Relax as you float down the river. Visit the Nosy Ampela waterfall for a refreshing swim in nature. Stay: Camping in tents by the river. Day 4: Tsiribihina River Descent (Part II) Activities: Continue the boat journey. Spot lemurs, endemic birds, and occasionally crocodiles along the banks. Visit the village of Begidro to see local rural life. Evening: Campfire and dinner under the stars. Stay: Camping in tents by the river. Day 5: Tsiribihina River – Bekopaka Morning: Final stretch on the river. Meet our 4×4 vehicle and drive to Belo-sur-Tsiribihina for lunch. Afternoon: 100 km of off-road driving to reach Bekopaka, the gateway to the Tsingy. Stay: Hotel in Bekopaka. Day 6: National Park: The Great Tsingy Full Day: Explore the Great Tsingy de Bemaraha. A day of adventure featuring hiking, bridge crossings, and light rock climbing to reach the best viewpoints. Wildlife: Look out for endemic lemurs and rare birds within the rock formations. Stay: Hotel in Bekopaka. Day 7: Bekopaka – Avenue of the Baobabs – Morondava Morning: Drive back toward the coast. Highlight: Arrive at the Avenue of the Baobabs just in time for sunset to capture unforgettable memories. Stay: Hotel in Morondava. Day 8: Morondava – Betania Fisherman Village Activities: Cross by pirogue to Betania. Walk through the village, meet the local fishermen, and enjoy the beach. Relaxation: Optional traditional massage or “Masonjoany” (beauty face mask) with the local women. Stay: Hotel in Morondava. Day 9: Morondava – Antananarivo Full Day: Long drive back to the capital, enjoying the changing scenery one last time before your departure. Included: Transport: Private vehicle with fuel and experienced driver-guide. River Trip: Pirogue descent with all camping equipment and local guides. Accommodation: Hotels and bivouac (tent) materials. Entrance Fees: National Park permits and local community guides.
