Protea lorifolia

The strap leaved Sugarbush. Endemic and widespread in the mountains of Western and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa. A compact and rounded shrub up to 2m. The glaucous grey green leaves are long and oval in shape and also quite leathery to the touch making this another great plant for a coastal garden. Plant in a sunny aspect in a free draining acid soil or can also be used as a pot plant on a sunny deck or patio. If pot grown we recommend you use our purpose made Protea compost which we have tried and tested for over 20 years. Protect from waterlogging and severe frosts.
