An easy kind of place to just be. ☺️ Artist information ◾️ New York Kayaking Club ◾️ New York Kayaking Club is a Tokyo-based New York-bred music duo. Their first song, “Sitting on the Moon,” was written while floating on a kayak in the Hudson River. Hence the band name. Blending heartfelt lyrics with dreamy melodies, their music drifts between reflection and hope. Now based in Tokyo, they continue to write songs that bridge their two worlds. ————————— ◾️ Mike Turpin ◾️ Tokyo Based producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter, Mike Turpin, first started writing songs in his bedroom back in his junior high school days. Raised in New Jersey, USA, he spent most of his days teaching himself multiple instruments including guitar, drums and piano while also honing his skills as a music producer. In 2017, he decided to drop everything and move to Tokyo to pursue his goals of becoming an artist. He has spent the last few years uncovering and discovering his sound. Blurring the lines between genre and emotion. Mike Turpin is pushing the boundaries with his immersive, emotionally resonant and thought provoking soundscapes. Seamlessly blending indie electronic, alternative pop, rock and RnB, his music defies easy categorization. Drawing inspiration from retro seventies and eighties influences, he often incorporates retro sounds with sounds of the new. Known for his evocative lyrics and unique production style, he wants his tracks to feel like experiences that linger, meant to be felt as much as heard. 【Location】
