These chapters serve as the core of Taoist philosophy, distinguished by their witty stories, surreal humor, and deep meditations on the nature of knowledge and the Tao. This edition is translated by Gia-fu Feng. Gia-fu Feng (1919–1985) was a prominent Chinese-American translator and teacher who played a key role in bringing Taoist philosophy to the West. He is most famous for his collaboration with his then-wife, photographer Jane English, on a celebrated translation of the Chuang Tsu: Inner Chapters (1974).
