Compact Anti-Cracking Mandrel - Reeds 'n Stuff

The Reeds ‘n Stuff Compact Anti-Crack Mandrel is designed to help reduce cracking during the bassoon reed-forming process. Instead of inserting a standard forming mandrel fully into the reed, the Anti-Crack Mandrel allows you to shape and round the back of the tube while keeping the throat flatter. This helps prevent cracks from travelling into the blade and gives you greater control over how much the throat is opened later with your preferred forming mandrel. Part of the Reeds ‘n Stuff Compact series, it features the same functionality as the full-size version with a smaller handle that saves space and is comfortable for musicians with smaller hands or anyone who prefers a more compact reed-making tool.
