Vintage Japanese Shigaraki Ceramic snake vase

A whimsical shigaraki vase resembling a tea jar, featuring a small snake crawling around the top. The vase is partially glazed at the top and around the snake leaving the bottom half raw clay that has been coloured by the ash in a traditional wood fired kiln. I love the way the top of the vase is slightly squashed and the little face on the snake! Found in shiga prefecture on our recent trip. Measures 16cm tall x 12cm wide
