A pair of vintage Carlton Ware lettuce leaf plates featuring raised tomato decoration at the center. Designed in Carlton Ware's signature naturalistic style, these English ceramic plates have richly molded leaf details and bright hand-painted accents. They display beautifully on a wall, layered on open shelving, or as part of a cabbage ware collection. Sold as a matching pair. Good vintage condition. One plate shows minor wear to paint on front, one plate has hairline crack on back edge. One is also slightly lighter in color than the other, and both show one very small brown spot on front edge. Measure 10" by 10" at widest points. circa 1940s-50s
