Vintage 50s Modernist Red Tiger Eye Pendant Necklace

So abstract in design and Bohemian in style is this vintage artisan modernist necklace, featuring a novelty chain with wrapped ‘red tiger eye’ stone, circa 1950s. The organic pendant style necklace consists of a silver-plated chain with peanut shaped links, along with a wrapped or “caged” gemstone of red tiger eye a.k.a. banded agate, in a fluid asymmetrical design. The pendant portion measures approximately 2&3/8 inches top to bottom, by approximately 1&1/2 inches wide at its widest point – while the chain measures approximately 22 inches in length, has an early spring ring clasp, and weighs 36.2 grams in its entirety.
