Painting Watercolor on Canvas w/Kristen Dorsey

Painting in Watercolor on Canvas explores the materials and techniques used in painting on prepared watercolor canvas. Painting on canvas is notably different from painting on cotton paper but offers some benefits. Canvas does not require framing, saving artists the expense and avoiding the glare from presenting under glass. Additionally, artists can paint larger watercolors without the struggle of manipulating big sheets of paper. This class is taught in two half-day sessions and is best suited for those familiar with basic watercolor painting techniques, especially layering, glazing, painting wet on wet, and wet on dry. The class will paint an 11×14 canvas (provided). Participants can paint along as Kristen paints a shared reference photo or bring their own. $175 plus $20 supply fee. Non-refundable.
