Mandela Day Donation Support our annual Mandela Day animal welfare fundraiser. Every year, Bishopsford collects donations for a local animal rescue organisation. Your generosity makes a real difference and we are incredibly grateful for every contribution. You can: Add a donation to your online order Place a donation in the collection box at the nursery Donate pet food, blankets, beds or leads We remind our customers each year around Mandela Day and present the donations to our chosen organisation a few months later. Why Mandela Day? Nelson Mandela dedicated 67 years of his life to serving South Africa. His birthday, 18 July, inspires people to spend 67 minutes making a positive difference in their communities. Previous Donations Over the years, your support has helped many animals in need. 2021: Aid 4 Animals, cat and dog food 2022: Steenberg Veterinary Hospital, R7000 for treatment of animals in Westlake and injured local wildlife 2023: Aid 4 Animals, cat food, dog food and blankets 2024: Animal Lifeline, pet food for families in a local township 2025: Animal Lifeline, cat food, dog food and blankets Thank you for helping us support animal welfare year after year.
